Pluto TV is a free, ad-supported streaming service that is available in the US. It presents most of its programming in a linear fashion (as it appears on regular television, with a fixed schedule and ad breaks) but it also has some TV series and movies on demand. Pluto TV has its own versions of Spike and MTV showing regular programming. You can watch classic TV series, like Third Rock From the Sun, as well as blockbuster movies, like The Big Short, on demand.

How to unblock Pluto TV with Proton VPN:
Connect to any Plus server located in the United States. Plus servers have a “P” icon next to them.
On your Android TV (app currently in beta testing), connecting to United States will automatically connect you to a Plus server if you have the right subscription.
Plus servers are available for Plus and Visionary Plan subscribers. For the fastest and most reliable connection, please connect to the server that is closest to your current location. To find the nearest servers to you, check the full list of our servers.

Step 1:
Get a VPN Plus or Proton Unlimited subscription
If you already have a VPN Plus, Proton Unlimited, or Visionary (legacy users only) account, you can skip to step 2.
If you’re a new user, sign up for Proton VPN.
If you have a Free plan, upgrade your account by logging in and selecting VPN Plus or Proton Unlimited from your account Dashboard.
Step 2:
Install our VPN app
If you’ve already installed one of our apps, you can skip to step 3.
You need to download the Proton VPN app for your operating system. You can securely stream your favorite shows on Windows, macOS, and Linux devices or on the go with an Android device.
If you have an Android TV, you can join the beta testing program and install the app directly on your device.

Step 3:
Start watching Pluto TV online with your VPN!
Because Pluto TV is supported by ads and free, you do not need a subscription. (By creating an account, you can customize which TV channels appear at the top of your list.) To start watching your favorite TV shows and movies, all you need to do is connect to a Plus server in the US and navigate to Pluto TV.
If you experience issues watching Pluto TV, please try the following:
- Restart Proton VPN application and VPN connection
- Clear your browser cache
- Use a different browser
- Restart your device
- Clear your DNS cache
